Iraqi Kurdistan Region’s Parliament discusses its budget

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Parliament of north Iraq ’s Kurdistan Region has opened its session on Sunday to discuss the draft-law for the Region’s 2011 budget, with presence of all political parties, a Parliament media source said.   “The Kurdistan Parliament has held its 5 th session to discuss the draft-law for the Kurdistan Region’s 2011 budget,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that “all political forces have attended the session.”   The Kurdistan Region’s Parliament held its first session to discuss the Region’s budget last Monday, with the presence of the Kurdish opposition forces, according to the Parliament’s media advisor, Tareq Jawhar.   The Kurdistan Region’s Council of Ministers had passed the Region’s draft law for the 2011 budget on Feb. 27 last, estimated to reach 13 trillion (t) and 940 billion (b) Iraqi dinars.   A U.S. dollar is estimated at 1,118 Iraqi dinars.
