ISX cancels Tue. session

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Stock Exchange (ISX) has canceled its today’s session in light of the search measures that have been imposed in the capital Baghdad. “The stock exchange has called off its session on Tuesday because of the inability of its employees to reach their workplace,” a media source in the market told IraqiNews.com news agency. The source noted that the market would resume its sessions tomorrow if the search measures were reduced. A spokesperson for the Baghdad Operations Command (BOC), Maj. Gen. Qassem Ata, said that strict security measures had been implemented in the capital Baghdad following intelligence reports about a planned suicide attack. Some residents of the capital have spoken of a “foiled military coup by Sunni officers” and a “curfew” that included some areas of Baghdad. The Iraqi stock market holds five sessions from Sunday to Thursday. SS (P) 1
