KCF complains of absence of control over foreign imports

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The General Manager of the Southern Cement Factory, Samnan Kadhim al-Seedi, demanded the officials in the government to protect the good local production and the Iraqi economy which suffers great losses due to the lack in the governmental oversight on the imported cement.

Seedi stated to the correspondent of IraqiNews.com that ”The Kufa Cement Factory suffers of losses because local markets are filled with large amounts of the foreign cement imported from neighbor countries which negatively affected the production of the factory,” noting that “The Factory has a production of cement which values IQD (50) billion stacked in the stores due to bad selling planning.”

He added that ”The Kufa Cement Factory produces cement according to the standards of the Central Body of Statistic no. 5 of 1984 and the factory is rewarded by the quality certification.” \
