Kirkuk-Baiji power line re-linked at ID4b+

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Works to re-link the 400-kilovolt (KV) power line between the cities of Kirkuk and Baiji were finalized at a cost of more than 4 billion Iraqi dinars (ID), an official source at the Northern Electricity Department said on Sunday. “The project, which took six months to finish, should be a qualitative leap for the technicians and engineers of the Northern Electricity Department as such projects used to be carried out by foreign companies,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The main power line linking the grids in Kirkuk and Baiji was repaired after several power towers were destroyed by armed groups in different times after 2004,” he added.
