Kurdistan RegionG to erect oil pipeline towards Turkey

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistan Regional Government announceed its intention to create a pipeline to transport crude oil from the oil fields in Kurdistan Region to Turkey.

The Minister of the Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government Ashti Hawrami assured at the energy conference held in the Turkish capital Ankara that ”The Government of Kurdistan Region intends to establish oil pipeline to connect the oil fields with another pipeline connected to the Turkish Jehan port,” noting that “The new oil pipeline will have the capacity to transport one million barrel of crude oil daily.”

He added that ”The Government of Kurdistan Region prepared the project tender to start the implementation of the project,” pointing that ”The Kurdistan Regional Government have the intention to upgrade the oil production from (250,000) barrel to million barrel in 2015,” without mentioning the date to accomplish the project.

He continued saying that ”The government will work to increase the oil production to hit two million barrel daily in 2019,” stressing that ”This project will be useful for both Iraqi People and Turkish People.”

The Iraqi Central Government and the Kurdistan RegionG concluded an agreement that includes paying the dues of the foreign companies which work in Kurdistan Region in return to rising the oil production for (200,000) oil barrel daily. \
