Lower demand for dollar this week

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Demand for the dollar went down at the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) auctions this week, registering $734.240 million, compared to $774.890 million in the previous week. The demand hit $229.260 million in cash, covered by the bank at a stable exchange rate of 1,181 and $504.980 million in foreign transfers outside the country covered by the bank at a stable exchange rate also of 1,178 Iraqi dinars per dollar. None of the banks that participated in this week sessions offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. SH (P) 1
