Mayahi reveals failure of developing schools’ project

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee Aziz Sharif al-Mayahi revealed “The delay in implementing the project of building schools to replace mud hut schools which are referred to the General Companies within the financial budget of 2012, pointing that “The rate accomplished of the project is (5) percent in spite of the fact that these companies received (60) percent of the amounts allocated for them.”

MP Mayahi stated to IraqiNews.com on Sunday that “The General Companies have proved its failure in managing these projects.”

He explained that “The Parliament will form a committee to investigate this failure and to prepare detailed report about this issue especially some provinces suffer of major lack in the number of schools.”

Al-Mayahi demanded the Ministry of Education “Not to refer the projects of developing schools to the general companies within the budget of the current year and recommended transporting the allocated funds for this project to the provincial councils to be the authority which implement these projects according to the allocated financial money for each province by contracting with professional companies which have enough experience in this field.” \
