Minister, U.S. envoy take up trade relations

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi minister of trade, Abdelfalah al-Sudani, on Monday met with the U.S. Embassy’s coordinator for economic transition in Iraq, Ambassador Marc Wall, to discuss means of booting mutual economic and trade relations. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the U.S. embassy in downtown Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone, according to a ministerial statement received by IraqiNews.com. Iraq seeks “constant relations” with the United States, which serve the interests of the people of both countries, the statement quoted the Iraqi minister as saying. Sudani highlighted the role of U.S. companies in investment projects in Iraq, stressing the need for partnership that serves the interests of the new Iraq. SS (P) 1
