MoE determined to eliminate electricity crisis by 2013

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Electricity Karim Aftan al-Jumaili concluded a field tour to the Electricity Directorates and power generating stations in the southern provinces, lasted three days. The visit aims to observe and oversee the electricity posture, the level of producing power and the execution rates in the new projects. The tour included visiting each of Samawa steam station, Samawa Diesel station and Dhi-Qar power station. The Minister also visited Basra power stations such as Hartha, al-Najibiya, and al-Rumaila where he was received by the MP Suzan al-Saad. Finally, Jumaili visited Kahla’ steam station in Maysan province. A statement received by (IraqiNews.com) quoted the Minister al-Jumaili, as saying “In the few coming days, the Iraqi citizens will see an obvious improvement in producing the electricity power all over provinces after entering new power stations to the service,” noting that “The MoE is determined to finalize the electricity crisis by 2013.”
