MoP of Kurdistan Region: Kurdistani citizen’s annual income doubled during last 9 years

Arbil (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Planning of Kurdistan Region, Ali al-Sindi, revealed that “The annual income of the Kurdistani citizen doubled during the last nine years,” noting that “It reached $ 4 000 after it being not more than $ 300 in 2003 which witnessed toppling the former regime.” A statement by the Kurdistan Region’s Presidency, quoted Sindi as saying “The annual budget allocated for Kurdistan Region by the Federal Government which is 17% of Iraq’s budget, contributed in improving the standard of living and doubling the annual income of the Kurdistani individual.” “However, Kurdistan Region still needs many development projects to be implemented especially in the education sector where the Kurdistan Region needs more than 3000 new schools, noting that the Kurdistan Region needs ($ 3, 5 billion) to implement projects in the construction sector,” the statement concluded.
