Muthanna power station opened on Monday

MUTHANNA / IraqiNews.com: The Muthanna powers station, financed by Japan, will be opened on Monday with a total capacity 60 megawatt during and official ceremony to be attended by Iraqi and Japanese officials, the technical advisor of the province said. “The electricity ministry set next Monday to open the Samawa power station after finishing al electrical and mechanical works,” Fahem Mahmoud told IraqiNews.com. “The province will witness next week the inauguration of the biggest province financed by Japan in the south,” Governor Ahmed Marzouq al-Salal told IraqiNews.com, noting that preparations underway for this event. “The project cost $118 million,” he added. Samawa, the capital of Muthanna, is located 280 km south of Baghdad. SH (P) 1
