Najaf refinery operates at full capacity

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: The Najaf refinery is currently operating at a full capacity of 30,000 barrels per day (bpd), the refinery’s director said on Wednesday. “The refinery is operating at a capacity of 30,000 bpd, up from 10,000 bpd,” Layth Abdulrasool al-Gharawi said in a press conference attended by IraqiNews.com news agency. The refinery has signed contracts to construct asphalt units, which will provide more than 2,500 job opportunities for residents of neighboring provinces. The refinery is located 33 km northwest of Najaf, a holy Shiite city which lies 160 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
