Oil Ministry seeks more border crossings

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Oil Ministry is seeking to open more border crossings to make it easier for foreign firms to bring their oil equipment to Iraq. “Foreign firms working on boosting Iraq’s oil production submitted a request to the Kuwaiti authorities to open a border crossing so that they can bring their equipment to Iraq,” a source from the ministry told IraqiNews.com news agency on Friday. “The Kuwaiti authorities approved the request, and the Iraqi Oil Ministry is currently examining the Kuwaiti offer in this regard,” he explained. The source called on Iraqi provincial authorities and ministries not to put obstacles that curb this process, stressing that Iraq needs these companies to improve its oil production level.
