Parliament holds session with presence of 244 MPs

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com – The Iraqi Parliament has held its session on Sunday, with the presence of 244 out of its 325 Members, its media office reported.   “The Parliament’s session began today (Sunday), under chairmanship of its Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, and attendance of 244 MPs, to vote on a law to abolish the law of a contract to develop al-Ahdab Oil Field and the law for ratification of Iraq’s adjustment accord for the oil pipeline, concluded between Iraq and Turkey on 27/8/1973,” the media source said.   It also said that the Parliament’s session “shall witness the first reading for the draft-law on the Iraqi Integrity Commission and the draft-law on the Iraqi Housing Fund.”   The session, it added, would also discuss a proposal to abolish Law No.249 of 1991, issued by Iraq’s former ruling Revolution Command Council (RCC) and RCC Law No. 100 for 1995, as well as the 2 nd reading of the adjustment of the Law on Private Investment in Iraqi crude oil refining, No.64 of 2007.   The Parliament’s media office did not give details of the said laws.
