Project to develop oldest gas station in Karbala opened

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: A project to develop the oldest gas station in Karbala City was inaugurated on Monday, according to a local official. “Karbala‘s Governor Amal al-Din al-Hir opened the project, located 1.5 km south of Imam al-Hussein’s shrine,” the head of the oil products department in Karbala, Hussein al-Kharsan, told IraqiNews.com news agency. Work on the project took nearly four months, Kharsan pointed out. The cost of the project was 264 million Iraqi dinars, he added. The station now has 12 double pumps and a 54,000 liter tank, he indicated. The holy Shiite city of Karbala lies 110 km southwest of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
