Rafidain gives thumbs up to Arab banking academy in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An agreement was reached between Iraq’s al-Rafidain Bank and the Union of Arab Banks (UAB) to set up an Arab banking academy in Baghdad to provide assistance and development for Iraqi and Arab banks, the finance ministry said on Thursday. “Al-Rafidain Director Abdulhussein Abdulazim al-Yasseri agreed with the secretary general of the UAB in Beirut to convene a conference for Arab banks in Baghdad during the last quarter of 2009 and establish an Arab banking academy in the Iraqi capital,” read a ministry release as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The two sides also agreed to build a center focusing on scientific research and communication with the world banks to provide the Iraqi and Arab banks up-to-date development,” according to the release.
