Saad urges to cover Maysan remote districts with electricity projects

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Suzan al-Saad, the member of the Parliamentary Energy Committee, demanded to include the remote villages and districts in Maysan province with the electricity projects granted by the Ministry of Electricity. Saad said “During our observatory visits to some of the remote villages and districts in Maysan province that are far from the city center such as Maymona, al-Mariyan, and al-Salam districts as well as the marshes, we found a clear negligence in terms of providing these areas with electric power.” “We demand to include theses remote districts and villages with the electricity projects and pay more attention to these villages and districts.” “It is worth mentioning that the electric networks and electric poles used in those areas are dated back to the fifties of the last century, also they were not covered by any development or rehabilitation projects, so we call to show more attention to these areas in the MoE’s projects,” She concluded.
