Seminar tackles consequences of global economic crisis

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Head of the Iraqi Businessmen Union on Friday said that a seminar will be held on Sunday to discuss the current global economic crisis and its effects on Iraq’s economy, explaining that a number of Iraqi government officials will participate in the event’s activities. “The meeting should come up with proposed solutions for Iraq to cushion the effects of the global financial crunch,” Ragheb Ridha Blebel told IraqiNews.com. “Discussions will involve threats posed to Iraq ‘s income deposited at the U.S. Federal Reserve due to the economic crisis and the resulted effects on stocks market, in addition to the reduction in oil prices and the impact on the Iraqi budget,” he said.
