Shahristani, Czech delegation discuss launching investment projects

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Hussein al-Shahristani stressed that “The construction of refineries and petrochemical projects enjoy priority in the Iraqi national development plan.” A statement by DPM’s office cited “Shahristani received in his office the Czech Industry and Trade Minister Martin Cuba as well as representatives from the major Czech companies that are specialized in energy and industry fields.” “Shahristani, during the meeting, called for developing mutual relations between Iraq and the Czech Republic,” expressing his hope to “cooperate with Czech in all fields and to invest in Iraq especially in petrochemical projects and fertilizers plants for its priority within the national development plan.” He warned the foreign companies of dealing with the mediators, calling these companies to deal directly with the Iraqi concerned ministries. For their side, members of the Czech delegation expressed their desire to invest in Iraq through constructing Maysan Refinery and rehabilitating Salah il-Din Refinery.
