Shahristani, Poneman discuss bilateral economic relations

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Deputy Premier for Energy Affairs Dr.Hussein Shahristani met today US Deputy Energy SecretaryDaniel Poneman, and discussed the economic relations between the two countries.   In a statement issued by his office, copy received by IraqiNews.com, the meeting was attended by US ambassador to Iraq James Jeffery.   Economic relations, particularly the energy question, were discussed.   Shahristani expressed Iraq‘s readiness to supply world markets with oil needs according to the increase in its production levels.   On the other hand, Poneman evaluated Iraqi oil policy that led to the increase in production and exports, stressing that Iraq will play greater role in world oil markets.
