Shell gas contract – Basmaya housing complex are main 2011 events

Baghdad / IraqiNews.com : A number of economic specialists agreed that Shell-Mitsubishi contract for Basrah Gas and Basmaya housing complex are the main 20111 events in the country, in addition to other events like the national budget which is largest in Iraqi history. Ex-parliamentarian Abdul Hadi al-Hassani said that the oil revenues of 85 billion dollars this year was one of the main events that led to better standards of living. In a statement to IraqiNews.com, he added that the formation of Basra Gas company is also another achievement, but the main thing is the start of the gigantic plan to build one million housing units. Expert Jameel Antoin told IraqiNews.com that the achievements in the oil sector is the most brilliant ones, but Basmaya housing complex is one of the greatest, in addition to the development in the agricultural sector, where imports were minimized during this year. Expert Abdul Razzaq al-Abayachi added that the national budget is the greatest in the history of the country, though did not achieve its goals due to the inability of the organs to fulfill it. Member of Energy Council Hussein Najim Alawi told IraqiNews.com that “the oil contracts and the new ones to be declared are among the main economic achievements in the country”.
