Trade memor – um signed between Kurdistan – Italy

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Kurdistan Ministry of Trade and Industry signed today a memorandum of understanding with the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.   The memorandum was signed during the Kurdistan-Italian Economic Forum held today in Arbil.   The Italian Minister Paolo Romani made a speech at the opening session in which he said “the previous regime made greater sufferings to this people, but we came to change it and start a new stage with you of development and reconstruction”.   He pointed out that the Italian embassy has opened a consulate inKurdistan, with the hopes of having direct flight with the Kurdish region.   “Italian businessmen regard Kurdistan as the gate for entering Iraq”, he added.   Kurdish Minister of Trade and Industry Sinan Chalabi said that there are 1809 foreign companies, including 212 Europeans.   “The participation of the Italian companies will help bring more of the European companies here”, he added.   Trade relations advisor Fathi Mohammed told IraqiNews.com that this forum is one of a series that will be made in Kurdistan in order to reach agreements with well-known Italian companies, as well as it is a message to the European companies that the Kurdish region is characterized with security and economic stability.
