Trade Ministry’s Undersecretary to be summoned by Parliament

BAGHDAD  / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Trade Ministry’s Undersecretary, Sweiba Zangana, is to be summoned by the Parliament for investigation about the existence of corruption in the Ministry, Member of the Parliament’s Integrity Committee, Talal Al-Zubae said on Sunday.   “Sueiba Zangana’s resignation from her post had been sudden and took place under unclear circumstances, thing that necessitates looking for the reasons of the resignation and to study the contracts that were concluded during her presence in her post, and to make sure that she was not involved in corruption dossiers that took place during the conclusion of those contracts,” Zubae told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said that “there are information pointing out to the existence of huge corruption in the Trade Ministry, and it is our duty to invite Sueiba to know the reason for her resignation and to know the size of corruption dossiers of the Ministry.”   On his part, the Parliament Committee’s Chairman, Khalid al-Alwany, told IraqiNews.com that the Iraqi Trade Ministry’s Undersecretary, Sueiba Zangana, “is a good employee and is not demanded by the Integrity Committee, as she was working in the Ministry since the time of the former Trade Minister, Abdul-Falah al-Soudany.”   The Iraqi Trade Ministry’s Undersecretary, Sueiba Mahmoud Zangana, had presented her resignation last Tuesday, July 12 th , and Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, had accepted her resignation.   SKH (TR) 596
