Work resumed in Nassiriya-Kut road

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: Work was resumed in the second passage of the road that links the two cities of Nassiriya and Kut, with a total length of 85 km and a cost of 64.5 billion Iraqi dinars, in addition to an execution period of 16 months, director of Thi-Qar roads and bridges management said on Monday. “Work in this project had commenced in 2002,” Engineer Abdulkareem Qaiss told IraqiNews.com. “Increase in prices after the military operations in 2003 stopped the project,” he added. Nassiriya, the capital city of Thi-Qar province, lies 385 km south of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 1
