Early elections demanded in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Hundreds of members of the Democratic Trend in Basra gathered today in the center town demanding early elections, in addition to governmental reforms, as stated by one of the leaders of the protest. The secretary of Basra‘s Communist Party Commission, Abu Mohammed, told IraqiNews.com that “hundreds of leftist democratic parties are gathered to “incite both local and central governments to implement the reforms demanded by the citizens.” “The demonstrators called for governmental reforms, provision of water and electricity, mobilizing deserted factories, combating corruption and find new work opportunities,” another leader Abu Ali elaborated.
