Resignation of local government demanded in Diwaniyah

DIWANIYA / IraqiNews.com: The spokesman of the Youth for Change Movement in Diwaniya province said that more than 1500 demonstrators called for improvements in the deteriorating situation of the province, in addition to the resignation of Diwaniya‘s local government. Abu Ihab al-Khuza’I told IraqiNews.com that more than 1500 protestors marched before the old premises of the province in the city demanding better living conditions. He added that the demonstration was peaceful. Demonstrators carryied slogans for the local and central governments to fulfill their promises in improving the social conditions in the province. Diwaniya lies 180 km south of the capital, Baghdad. RM (TS)/SR 1147
