12 high school students suffocate to death in fire in Nasiriyah

(IraqiNews.com) The Committee on Health and Environment of Dhi Qar Council announced on Wednesday, the suffocation of 12 students after a fire broke out in a high school in Nasiriyah city center.
Committee Chairman Ali Ghalibi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “A fire broke out today in Wilaya High School located in the area of Salihiya in the center of Nasiriyah, which led to the suffocation of 12 students.”
Ghalibi added, “The cause of the fire was an electrical fault,” emphasizing that, “Civil defense teams managed to control the fire and put it out.”
