Anbar Governor rejects forming militias or tribal armies

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) The Governor of Anbar Province Ahmed Khalaf al-Dulaimi threatened to confront those who call to form militias or interfere in the security situation of the province.

A statement by Dulaimi’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Anbar Governor rejects forming any military force or tribal army in the province outside the security departments,” accusing “Uneducated people of calling to form this militia.”

“Dulaimi expected that the security deterioration will increase with the approach of the parliamentary elections since our society is not familiar with democracy,” the statement added, stressing that “Anbar is not the worst province as far as security deterioration is concerned but media shows Anbar as witnessing the worst security situation.”

Anbar Provincial Council has allowed the security forces to search the protest yards in the province at any time.
