Babel Electoral Commission urges to update voters’ information

Babel, Hilla (IraqiNews.com) The Electoral Commission of Babel province announced setting media plan to urge the people of the province to update their data before the beginning of the elections of the provincial councils.

The media director of the electoral commission, Amir Hussein, stated to IraqiNews.com that ”The commission conducted its full organizational and administrative preparations to open centers for updating the information of voters and contracted with new employees to do this task.”

The Independent High Electoral Commission announced on January 23rd, 2012 accomplishing the elections law draft for the provincial, municipal and local councils, stressing that ”The elections are expected to be conducted during the next year.”

The last elections of the provincial councils were conducted in 2009 all over Iraq except for Kirkuk and Kurdistan Region. \
