Cabinet approves increasing Political detainees, prisoners’ pensions

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Council of Ministers approved to increase the pensions of those covered by Prisoners and Political Detainees Law. The Spokesperson of the Government Ali al-Dabbagh, stated “The Cabinet approved to increase the political retirees’ salaries according to the instructions, from IQD (500,000) as a minimum to IQD (600,000), based on the Care Council’s resolution.” The Council also decided to increase the pensions of those sentenced for 6 months in prison during the fomer Regime’s era, from IQD (250,000) to IQD (300,000), according to Dabbagh, who noted that “The resolution will be carried out from the date of issuance.”
