Cabinet’s Secretariat forms Committee to Combat Human Trading

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Legal Department within the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced forming Central Committee headed by the Interior Minister to “combat human trading.”

A source of the Legal Committee reported that “The Committee will be headed by the Interior Minster and the membership of representatives from the Cabinet’s Secretariat and Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Human Rights, Justice, Transport, Finance, Social Affairs and Migration in addition to the Human Rights Commission and representatives of Kurdistan Regional Government and Iraqi provinces.”

The source added “The Committee has been formed as a result to publishing the law of combat-human trading no. (28) of 2012 in the official newspaper and to activate the provisions of the law.”

The Legal Committee instructed the provinces to form sub-committees according to the article (4) of the law and the sub-committee should by headed by the governor of the province.

The sub-committee will submit its recommendations to the central committee to conduct the legal procedures to reduce any violations subject to the provisions of this law.
