Committee formed in Diwaniya to address flood risks

Diwaniya (IraqiNews.com) The Local Government of Diwaniya province formed a committee to avoid damages that might result from rain falling on Monday.The correspondent of IraqiNews.com reported that ”The meeting, which was held by Diwaniya Governor, Ammar al-Madani, and the directors of municipal directorates, resulted in forming a committee to avoid predicted damages due to heavy rain falling during the upcoming days.”Diwaniya Police Command announced the alert state among all its forces in order to be ready to participate in draining rain waters and evacuating damaged families.

On the other hand, Diwaniya Health Department prepared several ambulances vehicles to address any urgent case, the correspondent added.The Iraqi Meteorology and Seismology Organization expected the start of rain falling as of next Monday to reach its utmost level on Wednesday while an American Meteorological Observatory warned of floods due to heavy rains falling to hit the areas to the south and central Iraq as of Monday till Thursday. \END\
