2 earthquakes hit northeastern Maysan

Maysan (IraqiNews.com) Two earthquakes struck northeastern Maysan Saturday morning.

Correspondent of IraqiNews.com mentioned, that “Two strong earthquakes hit Ali al-Gharbi district of northeastern Maysan; the first one was at 08:30 a.m., while the second happened at 9:00 a.m. without causing any casualties or material damages.”

Maysan province and a number of Iraqi provinces had witnessed several shakes during the last few months.”

The Seismic Monitoring Bureau attributed them to Iraq’s location on the seismic crack which extends from south of Turkey alongside the Iranian-Iraqi borders, which became active recently.
