2 earthquakes hit northeastern Maysan

Maysan (IraqiNews.com) Two earth shakes hit northeastern Maysan.

The member of Maysan Provincial Council Muhsen al-Bukhati said in statement to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), on Saturday “Two strong shakes hit Ali al-Gharbi district of northeastern Maysan, on this Saturday dawn; the first one was 3.9 degrees according to Richter scale and the second was 3.5 degrees without causing any casualties or material damage.”

It is worth to be mentioned that Maysan and a number of Iraq provinces have witnessed in the last few months several shakes which the Seismic Monitoring Bureau attributed them to Iraq’s location on the seismic crack which extends from south of Turkey along the Iraqi-Iranian borders which became active recently.
