Iraq will not abolish death penalty

Iraq not to commit to International calls to abolish death penaltyBaghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Government announced its non-commitment towards the calls of the International Organizations over cancelling the death penalties against terrorists since this penalty represents a suitable act against criminals who shed Iraqi’s blood.

A statement by the Iraqi Ministry of Human Rights received by IraqiNews.com cited “Some media outlets purposely quote only certain parts of reports over the will of the Iraqi Government to cancel the death penalty, so the Ministry of Human Rights would like to clarify that the Government has a solid attitude towards implementing death penalty against those who are guilty in killing Iraqis everyday without a human or moral sense.”

“The legal commitment impose on the Iraqi Government executing the suitable punishments against those criminals without mercy since the opinion of the International Organizations are not obliging for the Iraqi Government at this time due to unstable security situation in the country,” the statement added, noting that “The security and safety of the Iraqi citizen is above all considerations.”
