Kurdistan Region to purchase automated drones by 2014

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistan Regional Government intends to purchase drones to scan areas likely to contain mineral resreves.

The Director of Mines Affairs in Kurdistan Region, Ako Aziz, mentioned in a press conference ”The Government conducted several experiences on automatic aircrafts, Suisse Cam type, in the areas that expected to contain mines, though the aircraft did meet our expectations.’

”’The Government demanded the Swiss Government to equip Kurdistan Region with another type of the automatic aircrafts in order to be received by 2014,” he added.”There are more than (2,500) areas in Kurdistan Region that contain mines emplaced by the former regime,” he concluded.
