BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq‘s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has said on Thursday that his meeting with the Parliament’s Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, shall have a positive impact on the political process. “My meeting with Nueify had been on a high degree of understanding and we agreed on the main platforms for the building of the State,” Maliki said in a news conference he held after their meeting, adding: “our understanding shall have such positive impact on all political forces and the whole people.” On his part, Nujeify said: “the meeting had been positive and shall work for the development of the political process and the State’s building after the departure of the American forces,” pointing out that “the meeting strives to hold the National Conference.” Prime Minister Maliki had held a meeting on Thursday with the Parliament’s Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, to discuss means to get out of the current political process and to prepare for the holding of a General National Conference in this respect.
