Mass grave discovered in Maysan

Maysan (IraqiNews.com) A mass grave comprising remains of dead bodies belong to 1991 uprising was discovered in Amara city, capital of Maysan province.

The Director of Maysan Human Rights Office, Ahmed Satouri, said “A specialized team discovered a mass grave in central Amara where remains of 60 dead bodies were pulled out belong to citizens who were killed by the Iraqi former regime during Shabaniya uprising in 1991.”

“The remains are subject to the DNA test currently,” Satouri added.
