Mass grave discovered in Sulaimaniya

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A mass grave was discovered in Mahmoud village within Kalar district of Sulaimaniya province of Kurdistan Region.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan quoted the Mayor of the area, Sardar Mohamed, as saying ”The mass grave includes the remains of several Iranian soldiers who were killed during the 1980-1988 war between Iraq and Iran.”

”Three corpses were discovered so far and it is expected to find more,” the statement added, noting that ”The three corpses carry gunshot signs at the head area.”

”The Martyrs Affairs Committee was informed to attend and supervise the process of lifting the remains,” the statement concluded.
