Mass grave for Iranian soldiers discovered in Erbil

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A mass grave containing the remains of [10] Iranian soldiers has been discovered in the village (Kanyasil) located on the main road of Balakaiti district in Erbil province.

The Information Office of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan PUK published a declaration for the mayor the Kanyasil village, Ahmed Kanyasili, which stated that “Workers of the companies working to pave the main road have found human bones and pieces of clothing which later led to discover a mass grave containing the remains of 10 Iranian soldiers according to evidence and indicators found in the cemetery.”

For his part, director of Kalalah Karwan Karim Khan said “Being informed about this discovery of the mass grave, we visited the place, and we found out that the remains found there belong to 10 soldiers of the Iranian army through military documents that were within the grave which show military figure, military cards and military uniform.”

“A special committee from Erbil Province began research and investigation on the mass grave,” he concluded.
