Migration Committee, British Embassy discuss return of Iraqi migrants

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Migrants and Displaced Parliamentary Committee discussed with a delegation of the British Embassy in Iraq the resolution of deporting the Iraqi migrants in Britain during the next year,” noting that “The Iraqi migrants in Britain are about (200 to 300) citizens.”

The Media Directorate in the Parliament mentioned in statement received by IraqiNews.com that ”The Head of the Committee Liqa Wardi assured, during the meeting which was attended by the British first secretary of migration and projects policy Trevor Haynes, the necessary of the coordination between the two sides to choose the suitable date for the return of the Iraqi migrants.”

The statement added that ”Wardi emphasized that the Iraqi migrants in Britain should not be forced to return to Iraq as some European countries already did,” stressing that ”The British Government hold the whole responsibility towards the Iraqi citizens until they reach Iraq.”

On the other hand, Haynes confirmed that “British companies will establish several investment projects in Kurdistan Region and the priority will be for the Iraqis deported from Britain to benefit from these projects.” \
