Misalamawi urges CG to stop increase in food stuff prices

Babel (IraqiNews.com) Member of Babel Provincial Council, Asad al-Misalamawi demanded the Central Government to interfere to stop the increase in prices of the food stuff in the province.

MP Misalamawi said to Iraqi News “The absence of the central government’s supervision on the local markets caused an increase in the prices of the food stuff by the stock merchants during the Eid Adha which caused huge burdens on the budget of the Iraqi families.”

“The local government in Babel observed a 30% increase in prices of vegetables and fruit without reasons,” he added, noting that “A committee was formed from Babel local government to follow up this issue and punish the greedy merchants.”
