MoE approves to activate Turkish electricity power line

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Electricity approved activating the Turkish electricity power line after accomplishing the test operation.

The Governor of Nineveh Ethel al-Nijaifi reported in a statement to IraqiNews.com that “The Ministry of Electricity approved to buy electricity power through the Turkish electricity line which was suspended until conducting the test operation in cooperation with Kurdistan Region.”

The statement added that “The governor expressed his hope that the Ministry will accomplish this issue during the current week otherwise the work will continue to conclude the contract according to the agreed upon conditions,” noting that “Nineveh governorate plans to provide (14) hours of electricity power daily for the citizens in the province.”

Earlier, Nineveh province started on last Sunday the test operation for the Turkish electricity power line to supply Nineveh with (50 MW) and the capacity will be increased for (150 MW) after the success of the test operating. \
