MP calls to limit appointments issue by Planning Ministry

Baghdad – (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Education Parliamentary Committee, MP Burhan Mohammed Faraj, suggested that “The Ministry of Planning to take over the issue of appointments in the Ministry of Education.”

He told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) today that “In order to avoid the large number of problems that occur in the Ministry of Education which are repeated every year in the appointments case, I suggest that the responsibility of appointments will be taken by the Ministry of Planning.”

MP Faraj said that “The proposal contains that the Ministry of Planning receives the application form and it will make the appointments and distribute staffs on all Iraqi schools,” noting that “This process might also be applied in all ministries similar to the case in Kurdistan Region.”

He stressed on the need for “Limiting the issue of employments by the Ministry of Planning and according to the priorities, scientific and educational standards, especially in the field of education.”

Faraj explained that “Mistakes in the matter of appointments in the Ministry of Education are repeated annually and there are problems that appear to be even within the Parliamentary Education Committee and even in directorates of Education as there is criticism for the distribution of posts and way of appointment.”

He pointed out that “this proposal could work until the formation of the Federal Service council.”

The Education parliamentary Commission announced the cancelation of appointments to the Ministry of Education for the current year, which took place via e-mail to the ministry due to the existence of financial and administrative corruption.
