Parliament approves to honor great Iraqi artists

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Culture and Media Parliamentary Committee obtained the approval from the Chairmanship of the Parliament to honor some writers and great artists and to contribute in providing medical treating for them.

The Committee reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com on Saturday that ”The Committee obtained the approval from the Presidency Office of the Parliament to honor some great artists among them the poets Mohamed Ali al-Khafaji and Hadi al-Rubaiy in addition to the artist Shukry al-Akedi and the family of the Kurdish musician Hussein Ali.”

The statement added that ”The Committee aims to support the artists and the creative persons especially the Iraqi artists and the cultural figures.” \
