Funeral honors General Khalif and soldiers who defended Baiji refinery against ISIS

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Monday, a funeral was held in Baghdad to honor the Iraqi Army soldiers and officers who died in defense of the Baiji oil refinery, including Major General Ayub Khalif.

The funeral was attended by Prime Minister and General Commander of the Armed Forces, Haider Abadi, and Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, as well as officials from the Ministries of Defense and Interior.

A security source in Salahuddin said on April 14, 2015 that Maj. Gen. Ayub Khalif and nine of his men were killed in battle against ISIS at the refinery.
