Plastic art suffers negligence in Iraq, says artist

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The plastic artist, Marina Jaber, criticized the government for not paying enough attention to plastic arts.

She reported in statement to IraqiNews.com ”The plastic art suffers from negligence in Iraq and the institutions which are specialized in culture do not pay attention for the paintings of plastic artists since the government is not interested in arts,” pointing out that ”The plastic art is such an important kind of arts because it reflects concerns and joys of the people through beautiful paintings.”

”The government is not interested in plastic art which created a frustration among artists and made them depart their art,” she added.

Observers noticed that some Iraqi plastic artists suffer of negligence from the government side and the government does not support them or their art which made students hesitant a lot before submitting for Fine Arts colleges. \ End
