President Talabani, Biden discuss bilateral relations

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: President Jalal Talabani stressed today during his meeting with US Vice-President Joe Biden that “Iraq aspires to develop relation with the United States”, while the latter pointed out that the coming stage “shall be vital for diplomatic and other fields of cooperation”. In Presidential statement, Talabani praised the US role in helping the Iraqi people to get rid of the previous regime and establishing a federal and democratic system. Biden pointed out that the coming stage, following US forces withdrawal, shall be vital for diplomatic cooperation, in addition to other construction and training spheres. The meeting was attended by US ambassador James Jeffery and General Lloyd Austin, Commander of US forces in Iraq.
