(IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, cleric Muqtada al-Sadr condemned the looting operations conducted recently in Tikrit, promising the city’s residents return to their homes, while emphasized that “the American occupation,” in reference to the US-led international coalition, is unacceptable and cooperation with it is “a red line.”

Sadr said during a joint press conference with House Speaker Salim al-Jabouri in Najaf in the presence of a number of Parliament members, attended by IraqiNews.com, “We condemn what happened in Tikrit, and we are thankful for the people who liberated it,” promising the city’s residents return to their homes and rebuilding of the infrastructure.

Sadr reiterated his refusal for the American intervention in Iraq, stressing that, “Cooperation with the American occupation is a red line and we will never partner with it.”

Jubouri arrived earlier on Sunday to the province of Najaf and met with the cleric Muqtada al-Sadr in the latter’s house.
