 Security forces evacuate 150 families from Qayyarah south of Nineveh

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – A source in Nineveh Operations Command said on Saturday, that the security forces had evacuated more than 150 families that were besieged by ISIS in the vicinity of Qayyarah south of the province.

The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The joint forces of the [army’s] Fifteenth Division as well as the Peshmerga and al-Hashed al-Asha’ri [militia] managed, this morning, to evacuate more than 150 families from the seven villages which were liberated in the vicinity of Makhmour,” noting that, “The majority of families were besieged in the village of Khrbirdan in the vicinity of Qayyarah (50 km south of Nineveh).”

The source, who requested to remain anonymous, added, “Forces belonging to the [army’s] Twelfth Division had provided food, water and treatment for those families,” indicating that, “The joint forces are going as planned, and there is no delay in the process of progress and the liberation of the villages belonging to the vicinity of Qayyarah.”
